Antirrhinum are short lived garden perennials. These are also known as dragon flowers, dog flowers or snapdragons because of flower's resemblance to the face of a dragon that opens and closes its mouth when laterally squeezed. Bright Antirrhinum flowers bloom profusely throughout cool weather in intensely saturated colors. The flowers start blooming at the bottom of the stalk and work their way up, making for a long period of bloom.
